I love photography, and yes, I actually can take a picture. and I thought I knew a good portion of photography… but I learned today that there’s a lot to this art that I don’t know…
I had to take a picture of the opposite sex. and where I am I don’t exactly know anyone, let alone guys. So I picked this one kid, kind of quite, once in a while he has an outburst of saying something a little offensive, but I don’t see him with anyone for the most part, it’s really quite sad.
So I went up to him and asked if he’d help me with this project, he’s in my class too, so it’s not like I had to prove I was telling the truth or anything, not that I think he wouldn’t trust me. He was more than willing, he wanted to know where he wanted me, what pose, where he should look, it was a little funny. He seemed like he really wanted to make sure I got exactly the picture I wanted. It was hard though, mostly because I felt awkward with the whole having to take pictures of someone I don’t really know. And I didn’t want to put him out of his way, after all, it’s not like he even knows me. He’s doing a favor. But we went outside, I got some pretty good pictures. Though going through them, it’s funny because I was like “These aren’t gonna be good at all” and it had nothing to do with him. I just wasn’t comfortable being the weird artsy person I am. and usually I’m in my room, blasting lights on my own face and using mirrors to reflect the light and all of these things, and now I was just using available light.
As I was saying, as I was going through the pictures… they were actually pretty good… but in every single one he looked sad. He was even smiling in some of them and he still looked sad. It’s strange how much of reality the camera can capture. People say the eye is the window to a person’s soul, but I think the camera is. It shows people’s true feelings, which is why you can usually tell if the subject was uncomfortable.
“Politically Correct” oh how I love this song and I hate it. Because I tend to lean towards the politically correct side, but it’s got a point, which is something I can respect. It bothers me when people use politically incorrect terms because they choose to be ignorant or for a reaction or for no other reason than to use it. But the song really doesn’t use politically incorrect words, such as racial slurs. It just talks about how everyone is so scared to say anything for when anyone else might feel offended. It also talks about politics in a way that really reflects todays politics “You lean a little to the left or the right but you can only see how’s on your side. A little blind, a little hypnotized.” Which is exactly what happens today, A Republican says an idea and the democratic party vehemently says that it’s not right, but then a Democrat will pose an almost identical idea and the Republican part hates the idea. It’s too divided, republicans wont accept democrat ideas and democrats wont accept republican ideas, it’s sad because it shouldn’t be childish. They’re running our country and all they can do is see who’s on their side. I thought our pointless war was in Iraq, not our own country. But it happens time and time again. Our country is being ruled by children, and it’s not just the democratic side and it’s not just the republican side. It’s both sides. They need to think clearly, and I think the best way would be to just drop the titles. Republican, Democrat, Green Party, etc. All just need to be changed to “Independent” why? because they need to think independently for themselves and when you attached yourself to part of a group, you feel obligated to conform with the majority, it’s human nature, it happened everywhere, not just in politics. But if no one was connected to a side and they all had their own ideas they could think for themselves and make the choice they really believe is right, not just the choice they decided 30 years ago when they had to pick a side. People learn, grow, and adapt (it’s a trait of being alive) Maybe someone thinks one way is efficient, but then over time they realize while it’s a great idea in theory, it doesn’t work in reality, or they find a big flaw in it later that they didn’t think of at the time. They should be allowed to change their views, but if you do that you’re no longer part of that side (so it seems anyway). But if everyone was independent, yes, there’d be people who seemed conservative and people who seemed liberal, but if you drop the titles and the “Party” sides, while people still might find a way to group together, it wouldn’t be as powerful as having just two groups constantly battling each other. At the same time, it’s too late for that, because everyone’s already chosen a side, even if that side’s Independent, and people will still call themselves a Democrat or a Republican even if we drop the titles, because it takes decades for people to change, and other groups will probably form anyway ”So you conform with the best of intention. Change comes from inside. After all that’s what this country was founded on, Do nothing different just fall in line.” and actually it was. While people did escape to America for religious freedom, it was a single religion, a single religion that wasn’t accepting of other religions. (Which is ironic, don’t you think? They leave to freely practice their religion, but they wont let others practice their own religion?) The main point of this is “everyone’s so sensitive to every bad vibration” that is doesn’t let us think for ourselves or speak freely, because if we do we get attacked for being “insensitive” or “politically incorrect” and while I do find it important to be sensitive, at the same time, people can’t always express their own ideas. It takes hours to figure out a sentence that expresses their opinion without sounding insensitive. It’s funny because we’re so “Freedom of Speech” and yet anything we say, we could get sued for. It’s silly. I must say I love this line in the song “There’s nothing I believe in more than my own insignificance, So why does everybody think that my words can make a difference” because it’s true. Unless you’re chased by the paparazzi, what you say really shouldn’t matter, because most of the world isn’t listening and most of the world doesn’t care about you, or me, or my friends or anyone I know. Let me clarify that statement, We’re not rulers, we’re not talking for anyone other than ourself, correct? We should be able to speak our mind and ideas as long as we’re informed about the topic. For example, someone who believes that the holocaust didn’t exist, probably shouldn’t talk about Hitler. But someone who’s a historian who specializes on WWII should be allowed to speak his mind. We don’t have to agree with everyone, but we can’t just attack every word out of someone elses mouth because a random person we don’t even know might be hypersensitive and assume you’re talking about them and they’ve got a lawyer ready to sue you. It’s just so illogical.
Okay, so it looks like April is going to be more “congested” as far as my posts go, this is a good thing… hopefully it’ll continue?
SR-71 I LOVE THIS BAND!!! I don’t actually know what they look like… it’s their music I really like. The band was named after a fast airplane… wiki says “SR-71 Blackbird, a supersonic surveillance aircraft of the United States Air Force. The band was originally known as Honor Among Thieves, and as would be the case with SR-71, singer/songwriter/guitarist Mitch Allan was the only constant member.” Oh how much smarter than me you sound Wiki.
I actually haven’t heard all of their music though. I have the following songs: “She Was Dead” “Empty Spaces” “Alive” “Goodbye” “In My Mind” “My World” “Hello Hello” “Tomorrow” and “Politically Correct”
So it’s not like I listened to one song and fell in love… one song was what got me started. The song “My World” I had first listened to with a Naruto AMV. It’s a really sweet song. It’s strange because I’m really into angry songs, but this was is really cute. It’s about a boy and girl who used to date, and the boy is still in love with her, but she’s dating someone else now. A line that seemed to really stick with me was “Is he all the things you tried to change me into?” There’s just something sad about it, because he really seemed to love him, mean while she didn’t love him for him, she wanted to change him. And she moved on when she realized she couldn’t, but he still clings to the idea that he really loves her, it’s so sweet, and sad, but I love it so much.
Alive is another amazing song from this band. It’s about a woman who was abused by her husband and she finally leaves him and is liberated. I really enjoy the chorus “Say goodbye to Mr. Right, lock the door, turn out the light, pack your bads, leave this trap, run away, don’t look back, see another day with each new sun, your life has just begun.” I feel like it should’ve been used for Anti-Domestic Abuse ads or some sort of campaign like that. It’s a great song because it’s about liberating oneself, (and at the time) breaking the norm, knowing what’s wrong and acting on it. She knows she can’t change him, she knows she’s old (65 in the song) but she knows that she deserves better and so she leaves. She frees herself, and it’s a powerful story when you think about it. (As opposed to the stories of abused women who eventually lose it and kill their husbands anyway…) No one deserves to be abused, physically or verbally.
I started writing about “Politically Correct” and it’s pretty long, so I’ll save it for a separate post… sorry. I get into things other than the song.
“She was Dead” I think this is a comical song, but at the same time I really hate it, because it’s his own fault for getting into the bad relationship and maybe if he was “busy staring at her chest” he might’ve not gone into the relationship, so he’s going to give her Hell because of his bad decision. Yeah she seems like a psycho, but he could’ve said no… probably…
“Empty Spaces” is just a really cute song. He had a girlfriend and they broke up and he’s wishing they could go back and fix the problems. He talks about how he hopes to get back together and says “There’s always room for one more mistake” meaning he thinks he’s a mistake. He’s expressing regret for how he acted and says he’s changed and would love to get back together if she would let him. It’s just a nice soft, slow song to relax to. I enjoy it anyway.
For now I must eat, but I’ll review the other four songs in my next post, and “Politically Correct” in the post after that
Check the band out

There is one interview where she admits she’s not flawless and that she does make up words. But I don’t think she’s serious about music, from the interviews I’ve seen, she says she wants to take “the piss out of everything” whatever that means… Something I’ve learned from seeing the interview with artist Ayumi Hamasaki really reinforces the idea that you can’t really hate something you don’t understand, because if you don’t understand it, how do you know you’re just not scared of something new and different. So that’s what I tried with Ke$ha (who I keep pronouncing as “Quiche-a” it’s more of a “Keh-sha”) She doesn’t seem serious about the music at all, she talks about partying (and I’m not talking about her songs, I’m talking about what she talks about in interviews). She says that partying is not superficial and that everyone needs to have fun (clearly she has a very narrow idea of fun) and party. Which is silly, she needs to wake up and get into the real world, she sounds like she’s a little tipsy when she talks.
She also looks like she doesn’t use a mirror and “rolls around in a dumpster” as one person on YouTube commented. She repeats the exact same thing over and over and over and over… was it manufactured? They’ve done it before (“they” being the music industry) she tells the exact same story about her mom and “Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton are singing her song” and it just seems like she’s playing the exact same words, the exact same lines, she never really offers any other information. All the interviewers ask about her songs and stuff she’s done (which just seems to be about breaking into Prince’s house). I think it’s strange, who says the exact same thing practically ‘word-for-word’.
She apparently wrote all of her lyrics, which honestly, I don’t care about. I don’t like the lyrics. Her words are vulgar, “they literally fart hit songs” Ke$ha says about her record people. Really? She talks about being poor but she doesn’t actually say much about it, so… what’s up with that? Is this trying to get people to feel good about her like another “Rags to Riches” idea? Because I don’t like this.
She says, “I’m not ALWAYS drunk all the time,” what’s up with that? Really? then she goes to say “That’s just how I act,” really? I don’t really like her, I’ve looked at a bunch of interviews with her and I’m trying to like her… but she’s so… reckless and I don’t like it, and she doesn’t talk about anything mature. Apparently she’s not into clubs, but has nothing wrong with being drunk a good portion of the time. ”I mean I don’t wanna get arrested, but I’m not opposed to it.” Really?
This is probably the most likable video I’ve seen of her would be this one which isn’t an interview, it’s her waking up from partying and tell people how to say her name… she seems a little out of it.
I do think she looks like she rolled around in the dumpster for most of the interviews I’ve seen, but once in a while I must admit she does look a little cool, but then she opens her mouth. Don’t get me wrong, I think the song “Tik Tok” is catchy, I hate the lyrics and I hate the message it brings, but it’s catchy, and in America that’s kind of how it works… catchy songs… infectious songs are the ones that “make it” …sadly…
I just wanna say that this picture is hideous, this is the cover of her album “Animal” that lipstick/glitter color does nothing for her, also, she looks stoned in the picture, I didn’t know she had freckles though (or maybe she just went crazy with the tanning booth or something)
I don’t get what her glitter obsession is… but in that amount it looks like she’s got a bunch of dirt on her face. and that nose ring is really appalling (I know I must sound really old right now, I’m actually a female, and barely legal) So I’m young But she just looks trashy. Everything clashes, it looks like it took a lot of work too, but what she’s doing with her eyes doesn’t help them, it makes them look really small. This was photoshopped by an amateur, look at her elbow… wanna know what’s wrong? She’s bending her arm and it looks like her arm skin doesn’t bunch at all (I know she isn’t fat) but the skin doesn’t just absorb itself and you should see the bend and shadow, but you can also tell it was really air brushed. I know, I know, everyone gets airbrushed, but come on! That’s just lazy, it doesn’t even look natural (I use photoshop a lot, more for picture integration more than clearing up people’s natural features, but the key point is never over do it!) And they still couldn’t make her look decent.
Yeah, she likes glitter, she’s a glitter whore (which just means she hoards glitter and uses a lot of her, I’m not calling her a whore, it’s just how the colloquial words work).
As far as I’m concerned, while she might be an “artist” by my idea that an artist is someone who can make people feel emotion by their work, I just feel disgusted by her music and her lyrics and her lack of awareness of the real world. If she really lived in poverty as she keeps saying (but never divulging any facts other than “I had to buy canned vegetables” really? that’s your definition of poverty? There are people who can’t even afford that….
I really wanted to like you too… but you’re impossible to like… your story seems fabricated, you don’t take music seriously… you have a narrow idea of fun, which is being drunk and partying. Which, while some people might find that fun, there are plenty of other incredibly fun things to do than throwing up and getting a hangover the next day.
But hey, that’s just my opinion.
