I’ve always enjoyed learning Chinese and I’ve found quite a bit of helpful resources, so I figure I’d list them here and maybe someone will find use of them
http://mandarintools.com/ This is more of a dictionary, but it has lots of good resources within it, it just takes some searching, I haven’t totally searched it completely. I just use it as a dictionary and to test my knowledge of hanzi. http://www.csulb.edu/~txie/ccol/content.htm Hanzi Quiz – http://www.abstractfactory.org/hanziquiz/hanziquiz_framed.html It can also be found on the Mandarintools website, but for those who are easily lost, I figured I should just put it up separately. http://www.chinese-outpost.com/language/ http://www.yes.com.cn/course/experience_k.jsp I personally found this beyond adorable, but if you’re not familiar with Hanzi (the chinese Characters) this might not be for you. It’s still really cute and you can download the “textbook” and “activity book” for the lessons. It’s for kindergarteners, but I had no idea how to say “I am brushing my teeth” until this. XD http://www.clearchinese.com/learn-chinese/index.htm http://www.minmm.com/minc/classes.php http://learningchineseonline.net/ This is FULL of wonderful resources, very easy to navigate. http://www.clavisinica.com/character-test.html – Another character test
http://www.csulb.edu/web/labs/langlabs/builder/grab/chinese/pcr.html – This is a great way to to test your memory of Hanzi, but not like the other tests, it’s a drag and drop, and it keeps my attention so much better than the other tests.
http://www.zhongwen.com/ -Probably the BEST dictionary ever. It breaks it down, shows different uses of it, and you can click on any character that appears there. It’s a bit overwhelming at first, but once you get used to it, it really is fantastic.
http://www.quickmandarin.com/chinesecharacter/ – This is a nice dictionary for those who have the pinyin but are looking for the character, and it pronounces it for you too, which is always nice.
http://www.zapchinese.com/ – This has some nice lessons that really help with basic grammar.
http://www.ctcfl.ox.ac.uk/Chinese/grammarlist.htm – Another Grammar site
I REALLY hate grammar, with a burning passion, but if you don’t learn it, then you can never actually form a sentence… so yeah…
I might want to review some of these places, mind you, I’m only into free. So I’ll only be posting free. I know some of the links off of these sites are paying sites, but the links I give you are free or have a free membership (usually very minimal and very basic).
